Give the girl credit: Busy Phillips has some mighty fine taste in men.

Actually, it's her Cougar Town character Laurie who's in love with Private Practice's Taye Diggs, but guess what? The feeling is totally mutual, and when we caught up with the übertalented twosome at the Monte Carlo Film Festival today, they spilled all the dirty deets on their faux crossover plans. Hells to the yes! Busy also told us what's up with the possible title change for her show...

"I didn't know that," he laughed when we revealed the Cougar connection to him. "But I had dinner with [Busy] last night and told her I have TiVoed the entire season."

It's interesting how, after this show started with such a high-concept premise and a big star, then made a massive readjustment midway through the season, then gave us episodes that seemed to be a series of vignettes in search of a plot, that we would get such a low-key, heartwarming, straightforward season finale.

But that's what Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel came up with for 'Cougar Town.' And it hopefully gives a good indication of what we might see next year.

As much as this show has made me laugh this year, it's occasional manic nature has always bugged me. You have a scene in Jules' kitchen, then we switch to Andy and Ellie talking about their marriage, then we switch to Grayson's bar for a couple of seconds, then suddenly we're on the Jealous Much?, watching Bobby and Andy toss pennies in a can. There were times that I got comedic whiplash from the constant switching around.

What can we expect for the season finale of Cougar Town?

"Bobby gets shot in the groin," jokes star Brian Van Holt.

Okay, Bobby isn't hurt that badly. But he does learn something "that hurts him a little bit," Van Holt says. (Hint: It has something to do with the relationship between Jules and Grayson.)

Does the season end on a cliffhanger? "Well, we are on a dune," Ian Gomez says. "That's kind of like a cliff."

Gomez also addressed HitFix.com's report saying that the name of the show may change. "I think it's going to have a name change," says Gomez, "Which is bad because I have a tramp stamp that says Cougar Town, and now I'm going to have to get it changed. That's gonna hurt."
