It's interesting how, after this show started with such a high-concept premise and a big star, then made a massive readjustment midway through the season, then gave us episodes that seemed to be a series of vignettes in search of a plot, that we would get such a low-key, heartwarming, straightforward season finale. But that's what Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel came up with for 'Cougar Town.' And it hopefully gives a good indication of what we might see next year. As much as this show has made me laugh this year, it's occasional manic nature has always bugged me. You have a scene in Jules' kitchen, then we switch to Andy and Ellie talking about their marriage, then we switch to Grayson's bar for a couple of seconds, then suddenly we're on the Jealous Much?, watching Bobby and Andy toss pennies in a can. There were times that I got comedic whiplash from the constant switching around. To Read More Click Here.

What can we expect for the season finale of Cougar Town? "Bobby gets shot in the groin," jokes star Brian Van Holt. Okay, Bobby isn't hurt that badly. But he does learn something "that hurts him a little bit," Van Holt says. (Hint: It has something to do with the relationship between Jules and Grayson.) Does the season end on a cliffhanger? "Well, we are on a dune," Ian Gomez says. "That's kind of like a cliff." Gomez also addressed HitFix.com's report saying that the name of the show may change. "I think it's going to have a name change," says Gomez, "Which is bad because I have a tramp stamp that says Cougar Town, and now I'm going to have to get it changed. That's gonna hurt." In a new interview with HitFix, series creator Bill Lawrence talked about how far the show has moved from its initial premise, in which Jules (Courteney Cox) dates younger men, since it premiered back in September. When asked what he plans to do with the show's title, he said, "I'd like to (change it), and the studio has been talking about it for three reasons: One, partly as a result of common sense and partly from their research, they find too many instances of testing of people saying they would never watch a show called 'Cougar Town' ... and then they screen an episode, and people go,' Oh, I would watch this show.'"
Lawrence cited storyline changes as another reason for the potential change, adding that a title switch could "create some kind of dialogue" as ABC plans to promote its new and returning shows. Indeed, as we highlighted in our recap, younger men seem to be a thing of the past for Jules, who is now hooking up with her neighbor, Grayson, played by Josh Hopkins. For now it seems that the 'Cougar' has been caged.

I’ve started deliberately drinking red wine whenever I watch Cougar Town. It’s become like any cooking show: You need to indulge in whatever’s on-screen or the Agony and the Envy will reduce you to a bitter, craving mess. I realized last night that I’ve been pouring my wine incorrectly this whole time. And I need to remember to take the first sip hands-free, but I should be using my hands while driving a car. Thank you, Cougar Town, for teaching me how to live more fabulously. As Jules said in last night’s episode, “Turn This Car Around,” Bite me! I can still change! Bitches be loco. Which life lessons have you sipped hands-free from Cougar Town? A few more full-boded, fruity revelations with slight hints of oak after the jump…
